I got the news yesterday morning that my lodge has lost another Brother. John Barney Morgan (JB to everyone) passed away late Sunday evening. His Masonic service is Thursday and I have the honor of giving the funeral oration. He was a Master Mason for 59 yrs 6 mo 18 days.

I got a call from his wife, Bert, last evening and she was glad it was over, JB has been fighting Alzheimers for 2 or 3 years and didn't remember her at all. Keep Bert and JB's family in your thoughts and prayers.

I recall one meeting when I was SD and got the MM pass from JB -- he couldn't recall it and gave it with a straight face as "jackrabbit" -- I almost lost it.

As in each passing of a Brother, I have mixed feelings. We have the lose of a terrestrial Brother and the gain of a celestial. Both have feelings, sadness and joy.

His family, friends, and Brothers are in my prayers.
