I've been taking interest in the symbolism of freemasons and there outlooks on life at those... Is there anything wrong with a non-mason using the symbolism because he admires The Masons?
Legally no.... well, let me re-phrase that...we do not have any symbols copyrighted but there are laws in some states that forbid you from wearing any symbols that would imply you are a member of a certain group. I would not suggest doing so because it could put you in an uncomfortable situation.I've been taking interest in the symbolism of freemasons and there outlooks on life at those... Yes, I also wear clothes... And i like drawing them....You should not wear or display our symbols as jewelry, etc,. You will get called out on that really fast.
Using the symbols? Do you mean learn what they mean and apply them to your life? Superficially, I guess it would be an interesting venture. It would equate to a blind man navigating a labyrinth though.
Alright yeah, I have a bunch of older friends who are masons and has warned me about it... So thanks for the advice.. And I do plan on petitioning so I'll make sure not to do that anymore....If you are ever going to petition a lodge in the future, do not wear them now. It is against the rules in my jurisdiction even for an EA or FC to wear them. They must wait until they are a MM. You are young yet. You might not believe this but you have a full life ahead of you. Do not be in such a rush.

Yeah, you guys, I'm still within a decade of him!Is he calling us old???? :1-say-yes: :1-wink-grin: :1-say-no:
I'd have to agree with what some of the others have said. Learn if you like, but for now, know that what you'd learn is at best incomplete. The symbols only start to make sense when you've studied and gone through the degree work- to an outsider, you'd have an incomplete picture.Alright yeah, I have a bunch of older friends who are masons and has warned me about it...
