Yup. Florida has got to be the worst. If you are a guy, you get all of the debt, insane child support requirements, and lose just about everything you own.One of my best friends is going through a mad custody battle in Florida. From what he has told me, it is not the best state for custody issues if you're a guy. I'll be praying for you and your son.
My divorce lawyer, 10 years ago, told me that the surest way to a quick & clean divorce is with a waterproof drop cloth, I wonder what he meant?Yup. Florida has got to be the worst. If you are a guy, you get all of the debt, insane child support requirements, and lose just about everything you own.
Then, once she destroys your life... all she has to do is violate the court ordered visitation rights. The cops can't do anything because it's a civil matter, and you'll be penniless to hire an attorney to fight her. And she knows it because she pretty much bankrupts you in the whole process.
About the same length of time for me. If I'd been caught with the waterproof drop cloth I'd be out of jail by now... LOLMy divorce lawyer, 10 years ago, told me that the surest way to a quick & clean divorce is with a waterproof drop cloth, I wonder what he meant?
Generally, the saying "Its cheaper to keep her" is pretty darn accurate....I am very lucky, my kid lives with me, no child support, no alimony ..... got everything I wanted in the divorce...$1500...out the door.....now I admit I am a rare exception....my ex just went through a early life crisis and now we have a better relationship than we ever had.I've never been married, nor do I have any children, so I have never had the fun of experiencing any of these delightful situations. But it seems to me that it would be much easier to just find a woman you don't like and buy her a house.
Cheaper to keeper is definately true. But what good is all the money and stuff if you're miserable. My kids were teenagers when I divorced, so they can stay wherever they want (usually their mom's), but we never had a problem with visitation or anything like that. I was crushed in child support, and walked out of the divorce with my pickup, a boat with a broken motor, my fishing gear and guns, my clothes, and a 10' Wustof chef's knife, a mandolin, and copper sauce pan (like to kill things and then cook them).Generally, the saying "Its cheaper to keep her" is pretty darn accurate....I am very lucky, my kid lives with me, no child support, no alimony ..... got everything I wanted in the divorce...$1500...out the door.....now I admit I am a rare exception....my ex just went through a early life crisis and now we have a better relationship than we ever had.
