A new planet has been discovered thanks to the watchful eyes of a talented team of scientists and astronomers. The new discovery of the exoplanet, located in an adjacent galaxy now gives researchers an insight into the fate of our own planet and solar system.

New planets being discovered is nothing new for star-gazers and astronomers who make a living doing it, but when one like HIP 13044 is brought into view, it creates an anomaly in space exploration.

A team of scientists at the European Southern Observatory in La Silla, Chile, while peering into space for the last six months, made a startling find. A new planet was discovered just outside our Milky Way galaxy that houses the Earth, sister planets, and our sun. The new planet discovered, HIP 13044, was born out of a nearby star called HIP 13044b, some 2,000 light years from Earth with the mass about the same as the sun.
