1,000-mile ride set for Shriners hospitals

When Todd Trivette of Wilkesboro gets off of his motorcyclearound 10 p.m. Sunday, he will have ridden over 1,000 miles in asingle day to raise money for the Shriners Hospitals forChildren.
This is the fourth installment of the ride that Trivette doesannually with Brent Higgins of Clemmons and Lyman Williams ofMorganton.
Last year’s ride raised around $9,500 for the charity, andTrivette hopes to meet or exceed that goal this year. The ride hasraised over $20,000 since its inception.
Trivette and Williams are members of Mount Pleasant MasonicLodge 573, while Higgins is a member of Clemmons Masonic Lodge755.
A person has to be a Master Mason in order to become a Shriner.Trivette and Higgins have reached that status and are members ofthe Blue Ridge Shrine Club, while Williams will become a MasterMason in November.
