(DAKOTA DUNES, SD) A local service group made a stop through Dakota Dunes on a service mission of sorts.

The Abu Bekr Shriners served a free lunch to volunteers, guard unit members, and everyone else in the Dakota Dunes flood zone on Tuesday, as a way to say thanks for all their hard work.

"This was kind of the headquarters area for everything that's going on here, this is where they coordinate everything out of, so we thought what better place than be right here, everybody knows right where we're at, we had the military guys coming and running food out to the troops in the field, so everybody got taken care of," says David Benson, Abu Bekr Shriner.

The Shriners served up nearly 1000 hot dogs and chips to those that have been working on the levees, and keeping Dakota Dunes dry.
