A judge has dismissed a former management company’s attempts to force a sale of the Masonic Temple.
In an order filed this morning in Wayne County Circuit Court, Judge Leslie Kim Smith granted partial summary disposition in favor of the Masonic Temple’s owner, Masonic Temple Association of Detroit, and an affiliated company, 450 Temple, against claims by ex-management company Halberd Holdings that it was entitled to purchase the iconic venue. The court action appears to be the most significant development since dueling lawsuits were filed in 2012 and 2013 in the ugly legal battle involving the iconic concert venue.
