Universal symbols & their meanings

I saw that there's a letter G, an L-square and a compass in Freemasonry's universal logo. What are their meanings? Do they have their own short history as to how they formed together?

Thank you for sharing the link. I need all the help I can get regarding the Freemasonry symbols and where they come from. To me, they just look mysterious.

They are not so mysterious. More so emblematic of the principles of Masonry.

After you study them a bit, you'll begin to make sense of them.
