I live where most people would call country, but I really dont....about 3-4 miles on the outshirts of a small town. But to me country is at least 30 minutes from town on some land with property not a subdivision.

Well...I am 25 miles from a pretty good size city (has a D1 college football team in a bowl, NFL team & MLB team).... but no subdivisions where I am.... I have almost 2 acre yard, a 200 acre cow pasture behind me

I live north of Milwaukee about 10m. I can be in the 'country' in under 2 minutes, deer walk through my yard, and we had a goodly population of chippers until the local feral cats 'helped' clean them out.

I live in a small town of 6 sq miles. I can be in a decent size city in 15 minutes or the country in 15 minutes. Not bad at all.

I don't currently live in the country,:( but my dad's place is about 20 minutes from here, and I have a metal working shop there where I can go hide in, it's nothing to lose myself for 8 or 10 hours in there. If I really need to get my country fix, (and get away from town) I know a lot of people who do live in the country about 5-6 minutes out that have no problem letting me hide out.

I'm in a town between 2 cities. Population of about 7000. Everyone knows everyone. we have cows, horses, Oxen, Lama, farms, diesel power pick up with monster tires and stacks, a place to go mud bogging, trails fishing, 8 churches, 4 package stores, 7 gas stations, 6 pizza places, a few million dollar plus houses, the big factory that used to make the 'Seth Thomas' clocks and a interstate right through the middle with 4 on and off ramps. All within a 11 square mile town. Conutry like? Yes. Country? No

Well.... I am not "rural".... like I said...close to a fairly big city and seven miles from two casinos.... I think you could say we are the area just outside the suburbs.....within nine miles of my house there is three high schools, all the major fast food, two casinos, a college and a slew of churches......oh yea, within 15 miles we have five lodges (not including the ones in the two other border states) too.....

I miss living in the country but to save money on gas for the wife driving that long drive to work , we moved into town . Having NO neighbors is what I miss the most . I can still go out to the family farm , but it is not the same .

I used to live in a really small town (5-6k), but now I live in Boise...although we're only around 600k as the largest city in Idaho which itself barely caps 1.5 million.

You know, Brother, the world has turned upside down. In the 1600's (when we believe speculative Masonry first reared its head) if you wanted to have a smoke, you went to the city to a special shop, sat at a nice table and lit up a bowl of (expensive) tobacco. When the time came, you went outside to pee. Today, if you did either (smoke inside or pee outside) you'd be arrested. Yep, the world has turned upside down! ;)

I live in a "city" of 10,000 crammed into 4 square miles. Before this, I lived in a "city" of 5,000 spread out over five miles. Before that I lived inside the shadow of Boston, in a much more densely populated area.

My wife spent her younger years in a town of 150 people.

I personally wouldn't mind living in the middle of nowhere on a large plot of land with a long ass driveway, but I'd want to be within a half an hour of some form of "civilization."
