Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Southerner?

Here is a little test that will help you decide.

The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children.
Suddenly, a Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you,
screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges at you...

You are carrying a Kimber 1911 cal. 45 ACP, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

THINK CAREFULLY AND THEN SCROLL DOWN:

Democrat's Answer:

* Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
* What is a Kimber 1911 cal. 45 ACP?
* Does the man look poor or oppressed?
* Is he really a terrorist? Am I guilty of profiling?
* Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
* Could we run away?
* What does my wife think?
* What about the kids?
* Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?
* What does the law say about this situation?
* Does the pistol have appropriate safety built into it?
* Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?
* Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?
* Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?
* If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?
* Should I call 9-1-1?
* Why is this street so deserted?
* We need to raise taxes, have paint & weed day.
* Can we make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior?
* I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus.
* This is all so confusing!

Republican's Answer:

Southerner's Answer:

Don't the armed forces teach the double-tap? :confused:
We are Marines , there is no such thing as needing two shots to take down the enemy . That is for the other services . But in my case it was "One shot , Many kills" .

This is just a saying we Marines use . We did not train heavily on sidearms when I was in , All Marines are Riflemen first and if you need more than one shot with a well aimed rifle , then you need to put down the rifle and pick up a pencil .

But what I stated was said in jest about the "One shot , One kill" .

Kimber 1911 pro carry, I carry one every day good choice. Front Sight Shooting School teaches, Two shots to the center mass (chest) AND IF THEY ARE STILL UP AND COMING ONE TO THE HEAD!!! I say there is no such thing as over kill just, dead, my family is worth everything to me. This took no thought.

GaryE..... being not PC is slang for Republican :)...LOL...dont tell the IAFF...LOL
I'm not Rebublican, nor Democrat. But I do believe in retaliation with extreme prejudice. Use ordinance applicable to the situation. When in doubt, make 'em a grease spot.

Ashlar; I read this to my wife, and from a fellow Marine (Hawk misslie operator), she says "OOHRAH!"

Oh , and I forgot to add , All Marines are riflemen and riflewomen first (Not sure if that is PC nowadays) . I forgot to add our hard charging Marines who are female !

Good retired Marine (there ain't no such thing as an 'ex-'), my ex-brother-in-law served in Uncle Sam's Misguided Children as well as many, many of my flying buddies. 1-shot w/rifle=true, d-tap w/pistol=true. As I recall the 1911 was designed to take down drugged-up Moors and was/is very good at that task.

But back to the original post, 2-3 in the center of mass w/45ACP should be sufficient after all there could be more of them around that corner.....

I do not shoot handguns , and do not own one . Had one in the house and gave it away .

I have a Mossberg 12 gauge pump shotgun . No need for a double tap when I can give them several taps with one pull of the trigger .

Ah, the universally recognized sound of a pump-action being cycled, it speaks with such authority.......

IMHO, one of the problems w/ America today is that the political strategists on both sides have developed an "us vs. them" agenda. If you want to defeat an "enemy" the best way to keep the troops motivated is to convince them they need to "hate" the enemy; a strategy well used in both WWs and Vietnam.

The problem is, the members of our political parties shouldn't be ENEMIES. Just because we may differ in our opinion on how to govern, or what to spend, or not spend tax dollars on, should not rise to the level of hatred touted by the extreme pundits who get air time.

<stepping off soap box> ;)

Yes it does . If that does not make a man stop and think I do not know what will .
I've got a Mossberg model 500. I have three inch slugs for it too. I pity the fool who tries to challenge me with that in my hands. BIG hole... Kinda like R. Lee Ermey with the watermelons.... LOL

I'm a progressive independent voter. I also keep an AK-47 by the back door for coyotes, a scoped 30-06 in the closet if they are too far for the AK. I do my handgun practice at 25 yards. Glock .45, CZ-75B, S&W 357 magnum, Sig-Saur, Kahr P9 and KelTec are all close friends of mind. I believe that it's wrong to use these weapons except to defend one's self or others. I don't like to kill things. I also believe that if it is necessary to use a weapon then you don't mess around.

People often put others in categories based on one characteristic and then assign other characteristics to them that they think people in that category have. I believe that's a mistake.

Incidentally my problem with coyotes is that the do mess with friends of mine. They eat my cats and the morning I shot this guy he was tangling with my two border collies.

My thoughts exactly.

Off topic, but I noticed the Star Party T shirt. Are you into astronomy?

I'm very interested in astronomy, but I'm not a sky watcher. I do try to stay up on the newest discoveries and it seems that they are coming in every day. It is truly the golden age of astronomy. Just wait until the get the Webb up.

I used to have a 6" reflector telescope but it didn't work out. Now that I've got a ranch out in the country where it's dark I may get a better one some day.
